Exercising Grace in light of A&E's 'Phil Robertson suspension'

This Duck Dynasty mess is all over the media. Why can't someone stand up for what they believe? Why doesn't A&E just let it go? Why is the LGBT community going crazy over an answered question? 

As believers, it is so easy to be upset and mad about the world and what it has come to. We can't even publicly declare what we believe after it is asked? Some argue that it violates first amendment rights, others say that you can't say stuff like that as a public figure, and others just let them fight it out. 



So how, as believers, should we respond to what we know to be false? I would want to fight back. To immediately be defensive and show the gay communities that they're wrong and that they're just as intolerant as they claim us to be. 

But is that what Christ would want as a witness--His ambassador? 

We are free to approach the throne of Grace and receive forgiveness. So isn't this how we should respond to the world? Grace. Grace-the hardest thing to muster up and give to someone even though it is the most valuably important. It's because it doesn't just take YOUR effort, it must be a joint effort with the One who freely gives it. 

In responding to Facebook posts, tweets, blogs, or all of the above, teach Grace. It is our greatest tool of witness. 

Besides, what have we gained if we show everyone that they're wrong? 
A lost soul. 

Be humble, un-argumentative, ready to listen to what people have to say to you. Humble. Exercising GRACE. If you've won the argument, you've lost the battle. 

Remember that our job is to share the Gospel. Not fight the gospel.

Stubborn man given NEW life in a matter of minutes.

There is power in the name of Jesus. I have never seen it like I did that day. It was our free day, with not much to do. Earlier, we had passed a big hindu temple on the side of the red hills, and then into a small village that looked untouched by the mzungus. Some of the team had mentioned how it would be really interesting to go to that village for a day, so we went! As we climbed out of the too-small-van onto the staining dirt roads, we prayed for His will to be done. Whatever it was, to let Grace fall on these people. And it did. It was like fire spreading. Goodbye 'Murica, Hey Germany!

If you know me at all, you know I love to travel. What an adventure I am about to be a part of! I graduated high school in December (2014). I made that decision in September to finish early because I had enough credits and then I was hoping to travel somewhere or get an internship somewhere local/domestic in the Spring semester (2015). However, I just kinda put it off because it was so far in the future. I met with our missions pastor at Calvary to see what opportunities were available. I wanted to serve the church and not just do what I wanted to do. He mentioned missionaries that Calvary had in Lebanon, Germany, Calgary, and India. After prayer and consideration and a couple emails, we decided that Germany would be really feasible to pursue because of a missionary connection that our head pastor had with the church planter there.
